Finding a Support Group

You do not have to go through bipolar disorder alone. Remember, help is available to you. Talk to your healthcare provider about mental health resources in your area and hotlines you can call.

Support groups

Many people with bipolar disorder have found support groups to be very helpful. Ask your healthcare provider if a support group would be right for you.

As an addition to therapy, support groups:
  • May help you stay with your therapy
  • May provide a place for mutual acceptance, understanding, and self-discovery
  • Help people understand that mood disorders are treatable
  • Give people the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of others with bipolar disorder

You also can find information about support groups through these organizations.
